DENVER — FORECAST BY: Meteorologist Laurann Robinson

FORECAST AT A GLANCE: Lingering snow showers, with dangerously cold temperatures stick around through Saturday.

Friday, we'll watch for on-and-off snow showers across the front range/eastern plains, with afternoon highs in the middle 20s. To the west, heavier snowfall remains, with several winter weather alerts still in-place.

Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for the Uncompahgre Plateau, Dallas Divide, Grand and Battlement Mesas, La Sal, Abajo and portions of the San Juan Mountains through midday Saturday. These areas could see anywhere from 7 to 24 inches of total snowfall by the time this systems moves out of Colorado.

Other areas of the high country, as well as northwestern Colorado, remain until Winter Weather Advisories through Saturday afternoon. Central portions of the high country can expect 5 to 12 inches of total snow accumulations, with 4 to 8 likely to the northwest. Central and northern portions of the eastern plains are under Winter Weather Advisories, as well, through Saturday evening. Watch for a few more inches of snowfall in those areas, with hazardous travel likely remaining a concern all across Colorado.

Friday night, light, spotty snowfall continues, with lows in the teens across the front range/eastern plains, and single digits in the high country. Bundle up!

Saturday, highs remain in the middle 20s, as the snow system starts to push east of Colorado. Lingering snow showers should wrap-up midday, with cloud cover moving out behind it. Be prepared for more lows in the teens and single-digits.

The sunshine returns Sunday! We'll see sunny skies stick around through most of next week, as temperatures start to rebound. Expect highs to rise into the lower 40s Sunday, then into the middle 40s/lower 50s through Friday.
